Louis E. Rabinowitz Memorial Scholarship

FROM HILLEL INTERNATIONAL 

The Louis E. Rabinowitz Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Louis E. Rabinowitz, a dedicated supporter of Hillel and Jewish life. Born in Savannah, Georgia, and a 1960 graduate of The Citadel, Louis played a pivotal role in supporting Hillel at the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina.


This scholarship will be awarded to Jewish students at the University of South Carolina, The Citadel, and Clemson University. Applicants should have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate leadership, entrepreneurship, or volunteerism. Prior attendance at Hillel events is not required.

 
Award Amount: $5,000 per year
 
Renewable for up to two additional school years, in addition to the first year. Not renewable after the third school year/payment, or the student’s completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.
 
Eligible: Current undergraduate first-years, sophomores, or juniors at The University of South Carolina, Clemson University, and the Citadel Military College of South Carolina

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (unweighted, out of 4.0) or 3.5 (weighted, out of 5.0) at the time the application is submitted in order to be eligible.
